Baseball Base Running Drill

There are many different roles and positioning for each baseball player. For some it can be difficult to become a master of each aspect of the game, but with plenty of practice and some great infield baseball drills players can master the many roles the they need to fill to play baseball well. One skill that every player needs is good  base running ability. Base running drills and practice may not be the most popular drills to run, but they are great for practicing this essential skill.

For this drill you do not need to have anyone playing defense which means more of your team can Fly balls and grounders will both count as a single. When the coach hits the ball a player will run as fast as possible to first base. For fly balls the runner will round the base and for ground balls the runner will run through the bag turning out of play to return to the bag.
practice together. This drill will work to drill base running scenarios and build up cardio for the players. Multiple coaches are necessary for this drill. One coach should be near home plate with a bat and a few balls. Another coach should be on third. The coach who is at home will begin by hitting a ball.

The first runner stays on first while the second player steps up to the plate. When the ball is hit the runner at first will go to second. This time if the hit is a ground ball, the runner will run directly to second. If the hit is a fly, the runner will go to second base and make eye contact with the coach at third who will then either motion for the runner to continue to third, or hold up at second. Players can cycle through this drill several times.

This is a great simple baseball drill that will help the players condition themselves to look at their coaches and run hard. Putting this base running drill in your weekly practice drill rotation is sure to help your players become better prepared on the bases.

How to Choose the Best Yoga Pants

There are hundreds of yoga pants styles to choose from and making the best choice for comfortable practice can be difficult. The best yoga clothing will move and stretch as you do. It should be made from absorbent and breathable fabric so to keep it from clinging and making you uncomfortable. Most yoga styles will have you moving from asana to asana and you do not want to loose your pants while going from one position to the next.

Although some aspects of  choosing the right yoga pants for you is personal preference (I prefer foldover yoga pants), there are a few tips that yogi should consider before buying a new pair of pants. For yogis that prefer hot yoga, or Bikram yoga classes, shorts may be the best choice where as long looser fitting pants work better for Vinyasa style yoga.

The first thing to consider is the fabric. There are many types of athletic fabrics to choose from, but some work better for yoga practice than others. Synthetic fabrics are plentiful, but there are also many options made from natural environmentally friendly and even organic fabrics. First, decide which type of fabric works for your needs. Natural fabrics are free of harmful chemicals and are easier on the environment, but you may not like the way these fabrics feel.

If you do decide on a natural fabric, you have plenty to choose from.  One of the best fabrics is made of bamboo. Yep, bamboo. Bamboo, cotton and hemp are great lightweight breathable fabrics that are great for yoga, the environment and your health. These materials are renewable and do not cause overdue stress on the lad where the plants grow and they are biodegradable. Hemp fabrics are often similar in texture to linen and are very strong and durable. Cotton is a great choice for yoga pant material- make sure that it is organic cotton, if that is important to you.

Discount Sporting Goods - Four Ways to Save on Sports Equipment

Skis, shoes, weights, helmets and other equipment all come with a high price tag, but you don't have to let the cost of sporting equipment keep you from enjoying the activities that you love. If you're passionate about a sport, there are plenty of ways that you can get the items that you need for low cost or no cost at all.
The first way to save money on sporting goods is to borrow it from friends or family. If you need skis for a weekend, see if you can borrow them from someone you know. Borrowing equipment works best if you are trying out an activity that you've never tried before or that you do infrequently. It can get annoying if you are constantly borrowing someone else's equipment, but it's an option if you really need some equipment in the short term.
If you decide that you need equipment too frequently to be able to borrow it, you can look at yard sales, Craigslist or online auctions to find equipment for low prices. When you go this route, you can sometimes find high quality equipment for bargain basement prices.
When you are buying used equipment, make sure to put it through its paces. Get on a treadmill and run on it. Assemble and disassemble each combination on a set of dumbbells. Bounce on the trampoline. Make sure that the equipment you are buying can stand up to normal wear and tear. This way you won't have any surprises when you get home and try to use the equipment.
Your other option for inexpensive sporting equipment is to be a smart shopper and look for equipment at discount stores. If you aren't a professional and only take part in activities casually, you can get by with cheaper brands with less quality construction.
Most mega-mart discount type stores carry good basic equipment for whatever activity you're interested in. But if you're an avid fisherman or bowler, for example, you'll want to pay more for higher quality equipment. You can do so without spending a whole lot of money by watching for sales at sporting goods stores. You can often find good deals at the beginning or end of the season. Watch for markdowns on your favorite items and snatch them up when you get the chance.

Go Organic for Your Yoga Clothing

Yoga is an ancient and spiritual art. It is not only about physically de-stressing but also about finding mental relief and balance. Yoga has a lot of exercises and poses which improve your physical and mental state, relieve stress, and even cure diseases like asthma. It is very important to be in comfortable attire when doing yoga, so that the body experiences no constraints or limitations of movement. The best yoga apparels are those that fall into the category of Organic Yoga Clothing. This is apparel that is made out of organic crops - crops that are not genetically modified or have any chemical pesticides used in the growing process.

Organic yoga clothes, when made well, provide a comfortable feel and create no constraints while moving through a yoga sequence, no matter what 'asana' or posture you are trying. Organic yoga apparel is different from non-organic apparel in that it is grown without the use of harmful chemical pesticides, thus keeping the garments - and the wearer - in as close a state to nature as possible.
You can also go Organic for your hot yoga clothing. Organic yoga apparel are available at an ever growing list of stores though an increasingly popular option is to find your natural yoga apparel online. Many online stores have large collections of natural clothing, ensuring that there are styles to meet everyone's need. Some of the more commonly found Organic yoga kit are yoga tank tops, pants, t-shits, shawls, and headbands.
The organic yoga clothes are made with different disciplines in mind. For example, hot yoga apparels typically has less fabric and sits tight to the body. Kundalini yoga clothing, by contrast, is typically white and flows loose on the body. Headbands for kundalini are also very common as they protect the crown chakra during powerful energy sequences while headbands for hot yoga are mostly intended to keep the sweat and hair out of the wearers face.
